ABOUT:

Madrïgals is the experimental electronic art-pop project of Finnish-American artist Emily Cheeger, formerly known as Vuk. Madrïgals reimagines the mystical, emotionally charged eclecticism of her earlier work in a more expansive and sleek, yet rawly expressive incarnation, wedding intricate polyphonic melodies with hypnotic beats and lyrics infused with myth, poetry, dark humor, and visionary magical realism.

Based between New York City, Helsinki, and now Granada, Madrïgals is the latest vessel for a multifaceted artist whose path has led from a family of classical musicians, to studying film directing at NYU’s graduate film program, to tours across Europe and the U.S. with artists such as Fever Ray and Dirty Projectors.
